Good government never depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of those who govern. The machinery of government is therefore subordinate to the will of those who administer that machinery. The most important element of government, therefore, is the method of choosing leaders.

Nothing new to report, as I spent a long day doing absolutely nothing. Time that I will never get back, Time that I spent watching spam roll by on a Yahoo Chatroom which I suggest never to bother with because plainly it is a bunch of spam-bots that are simply floating around spamming anyone that bothers to go there. Because I was weak and bored, I did nothing except allow these spam bots pepper me with spam while I gazed boredly at the computer screen. Meanwhile, I did meet a couple of people while bitching to myself in the room who were nice to talk to for the little while that we chatted, but that was it. Boredom.

So, I will go now, into my bed of ill-repute. Heh.

NARUTO #93 is all that I can say today, because as you can see, or hear, or read or whatever, that is the most important thing that I can currently think of as I muddle my way through writing this little notation. So, if you just got home from work (or in the case of normal people who are just going/gotten to work) I hope that YES, YOU TOO, can view Naruto #93. (That is Naruto (Anime Episode # 93) For the unenlightened). Soon, there will be a note about Naruto in my own words, as per a review or whatever else you may say. However, for now, I will say that Naruto is a bad-mother*expletivedeleted*ass anime about a demon-fox/human hybrid kid who is a Master Ninja-in-training. If you haven't seen it or heard of it, search the web ... you can't go wrong. And download it using Bit Torrent from Animesuki.com. Bastards.

Good... bad, I'm the guy with the gun.

**EDITED: 11:21 AM
I've watched Naruto #93 and I will have to say that I am damn anxious to see the next one, woe and betide. Prepare for RASENGAN! Man, I can't wait til next week, I almost feel like a young man again. *sniff*

In lieu of what I have recently done/read/listened to and so on and so forth, I am declaring today as Bathory Tribute day. (Then again, I declare many other days as that as well, but today in specific, I would like to make note, that I, yes, I, will write a short narrative about Bathory, inasmuch as what I think of them, which albums of Bathory's I possess, which I want to possess, what I have seen, done, and so on, as far as relationship to Bathory.)
Our story begins where our hero, me, learns of my friend from High School mentions that his "house-brother" Martyn has an album by a band called Bathory. Sure, this is back in 93-ish, although I can't remember, but I remember that this Martyn is a netherlander; a blond, drunken, crazy-man of a netherlander, who happens to be one of the (or, rather, The) coolest netherlander that I have ever possibly had the chance to meet. Now, not only is this netherlander a kick-ass dude to chill with, -but-, he also possessed a copy of Hammerheart by Bathory, a copy on Tape of which my friend from High School, copied and passed off to me. For long years I never truly realized the gem I had in that copied tape that had been given to me, until one year later (approximately, heh), I listened to the album in entirety, in a place where I couldn't exactly escape its sound. The shower. Yes, the shower. I did enjoy listening to good metal in the shower during high-school, whereas I could growl along with without choking, because of the nifty hot steam (I -do- like my showers hot.). Bathory didn't so much as growl, but Quorthon had that almost unrecognizable accent and spoke in Tongues, because I could not understand what the hell the bastard was singing about at first. It took several listens, and finally a search on the internet (which at the time was very not so happenin', mainly because I believe, if I recall correctly I had to use something like Turbo Gopher? Yeah, I think that's it) to browse the old Image-free internet of pure text. In fact, I recall that at that point, it was mainly college systems, it was more popular to log into BBSes at the time. Yes, BBSes.

In fact, I couldn't find very much information on Bathory on the internet. Almost none at that point, and I searched and searched, until finally I found a copy of Hammerheart's lyrics on a BBS (amazingly enough), A BBS called 'City Lights', ran locally here in Minnesota, by some guy probably. Now, I can't exactly describe the sort of tunes that occupies this album, but I must say that Hammerheart is an incredibly powerful album of the sort of epic / nordic genre. When I listen to it, I totally fall into the whole powerful feeling of it. It is not very fast and hardcore, but very slow and soothing, but powerful all at once, unlike much of Rock'n'Roll. It almost made you want to put some small villages (or churches if you live in Norway) to the torch! Although I didn't do anything of the kind, regardless of my desire to do so or not.

Regardless, I suffered through several years Bathory-less because there was no real means to find it, and of course, I was totally like young and flighty because I had no real attention span for any single thing, except for Women & Weed ... *cough* Well, and my friends of course (they usually sat higher then either of the two former things, so...) Anyhow, I listened to the ole Root of All Evil radio show a lot, and heard many bands and stuff that I still have to this day on tape (I recorded from the Root regularily)... and eventually came to a point where I found a cool record/CD/Tape store called NIGHTFALL RECORDS run by, our favorite: Don Decker (who is that man?! The LEAD SINGER for : ANAL BLAST.) Yeah, run out and shop there kiddies, you can get some kick-ass, bad-mother*expletive deleted* Metal to Kill by!

As I was saying, I found this shop when I lived in South Minneapolis (woe & betied) with my ex(crement)-roomate "Brian" circa.1999 and managed to score several other albums by Bathory on CD. Bathory, The Return, Under the Sign of the Black Mark, Twilight of the Gods, Blood Fire Death, Blood on Ice, Octagon (this is a bull-shit album) ... and I think one more, but I can't remember the name. I was immediately enraptured by Blood Fire Death, Twilight of the Gods, Blood on Ice & Most Especially Under the Sign of the Black Mark. Why was I enraptured so by this album?! (2) Songs: Woman of Dark Desires & EQUIMANTHORN. For some reason, above this is my favorite kinda, hardcore song by Bathory, although I do love : Fine Day to Die, Necromansy, 13 Candles, and so on and so forth... but still, my favorite Bathory song of all-time is: Shores in Flames, off the Hammerheart Album. ( I will note that the first 3 albums (Bathory, The Return & Blood Fire Death, were recorded at a horrible audio-quality ** or at least on my Cd-player it sounds like sh*t). I also purched the "In Conspiracy with Satan - Tribute to Bathory" album with great bands such as : Dark Funeral, Marduk, Emperor, Satyricon ... and so on. (All the songs pretty much kick-ass)

Well, let's see. What else can I mention about them. Since I listened to them, I've loved them and been a fan ever since, ever since and until I heard the rumor about Quorthon being dead from a heart problem.

All I can say to that:
Northern wind take my song up high
To the Hall of glory in the sky
So its gates shall greet me open wide
When my time has come to die

Well, I wish that it's not true, but, it seems to me that it is most likely the truth. And so ends, pretty much any new Bathory that I will listen to, although I do have to purchase "Nordland" and so on, any other albums by Bathory that I do not currently possess and replace an album or two *cough* that I may have spilled something on back in the day.. (or maybe it was my ex(crement)-roomate - not sure, that time was a blur, heh)

Arright, aside from my Bathory thing. I added a little mid- file to this site, if you don't like it, tough shit, because you, the user, don't have a very strong voice (considering, there's like 1 of you, you bastard), so... maybe you will like it, maybe not, but it comes from the old PC-DoS game NOCTROPOLIS , which is "City of Night" apparently. Either way, was an old kick-ass game, back in the day. like, 1994 or 95... by EA if I recall correctly (haven't they been around for-ever?!)

Anyhow, time for me to go do something else.

I have to say that I am never ceasing to be amazed by the advances in modern technology. I mean, far be it for me to realize that various things have evolved long past what I recall them to be ... yesterday. I mean, I realized this new RSS/RDF/XML reader thing was "in" or whatever, so that people could see "up-to-the-minute" news on whatever it was that they are viewing with their RDF/RSS viewer thingy... I know how to use one, I have used one, and in fact, most times I am using one, because interestingly enough, some guy, who I don't know, made a plug-in for a cute little chat program called Trillian. Now, I will say that Trillian is a very handy program in many ways, firstly it uses AIM, ICQ, MSN & YAHOO-Messenger + IRC in a "all-in-one" sort of program, but not only does it do that, but because of its robust language or whatever it was that created the backend of the program, it is apparently easy for people to make plug-ins which can be shared & used by people amongst the community. A Rss/RDF reader is one of these plug-ins. I'd have to say "Thumbs up" for Trillian. You can get a demo or buy it, here.

Next, I will say, that part of this technology that I was referring to is that you can just go to some guy's website, find a Javascript that allows you to import RSS/RDF directly on your webpage dynamically. (Or at least, whenever anyone loads/refreshes the site). I was absolutely surprised by the existence of this, because it's not as if I have really done any "in-depth" web design, other then ripping people off of their code and making minor changes to it as far as colors, etc. go so that I could use it for my personal taste. (A la this site. *Cough*) I am currently investigating the creation of a couple more sub-sites to this ramble one that will potentially list/express/etc. my interests in regards to Anime (Japanese Animation, redundant, yes?) and D&D (Dungeons & Dragons for you !nerds.) I could potentially add other stuff that strikes my fancy if I bother, or whatever. I notice that when I am bored, I tend to ramble more as well as be more creative.

You see, our group has this problem. Recently, we've been playing 'new' D&D characters because our old ones are so powerful, old & evil, that they have gone into reclusiveness in some ways. (One is constantly trying to study/perfect certain crafting techniques, another is running a little hole-in-the-wall retrieval agency shop (Can you find my kitty?!, etc.), and the last is on hiatus in a Wizard's Tower, a few miles outside of the wreckage that was once one of the greatest cities of Faerûn: Waterdeep. Now a stinking wreck of a crumbled town after it was used as an "example" by the minions of the "White Banshee" lady, who was later defeated by "The Evil that Never Sleeps..."

So, with all this boredom, as well as my time during work (which is mainly brain-dead time because it requires no actual thought processes), I have been mulling around for several ideas for adventures. Now, I completely know how to lure my character into a quest, however I am not quite as sure that it would be so easy to Lure the other two. Mort & Gaellen, because they are.. much different in their tastes of enjoyment & fun, or whatever, and it seems as if a lot of our games lately have been sort of half-assed compared to before. But, maybe that's just my impression of our games lately. ...

Regardless of all that, things are good mostly: The car has the absolute worst of things that can happen to it... the Check Engine light has appeared, which could mean that it is a driving time-bomb, or... it could mean that a squirt of water got onto a wire and there was a spark and no damage dealt, or.. or whatever, it could mean any damn thing. And, it will cost me something like $84 just to get the *expletive deleted* checked at CarX (locally). Man, this sucks ass. But, at least if I gotta walk to work (which is quite *expletive deleted* likely, I will have to get up early, get my ass outta the shower & to business early so I can hoof it to work...) Meah. Sucks.

Okay, now that I've rambled about that a whole lot, let's see what else I can say. Hmms, I finished Turning Points, and thought that the novel was real slick and wish there was more that I could read as to Thieves World, although Hanse as an old man and Tempus apparently dead are two of the things that may make it not as fun of a read for me. *sniff* Those two were two of my favorite characters really.

Hmms. I just bought Hellboy on DVD, apparently mastered for HDTV so my TV should take advantage of the cool widescreen/HD format and we'll see how good that shit looks in high-definition.

I got nothing else to report here that I can think of.. or at least, my brain has decided to not be able to coagulate into a semi-cognizant thought here for the past few minutes mainly because of the distraction I am suddenly feeling, so I will go.

Saturday, July 24, 2004

Well, work today wasn't so bad, although I am glad that it is over, and very soon I will sink into the nice dark depths of sleep from which I will never awake.

Well, I will awake around 3-ish/4-ish when my friend is going to show up for D&D day. So, he'll show up, my wife will work a bit on the adventure that she has prepared for us to go on, and we will happily play while listening to some crazy-ass ambient music of the "Melodic Black Metal" genre (amongst other music, like Beethoven & other various instrumental bits).

[bitch_session]
I must go ahead and say that I really hate it when someone is stupid. And by stupid, I mean by doing things such as repeating the obvious, such as: "Gee, it's bright outside", or "You are going home now, huh?" or "You are taking those big trash-cans in your hands out to the parking lot, eh?" For some reason, people sometimes feel the need to consistently and constantly restate obvious things, especially people that seem to have less then average intelligence. Mainly, I think it is something on their part, to simply irritate those with their observations, things that have already been noted, catalogued and filed away and forgotten by someone with intelligence greater then that of a squid.

Why do people constantly pester you , or try to "get back" at you for some so-called wrongdoing on your part, when in fact, you haven't done anything malicious to the one(s) lacking in general intelligence and common sense? I mean, if you are working with someone who lacks such things as common thinking ability and so on, and that person also cannot seem to bother to work more then at a snail's pace, then, because your ability to both think and work hard are noticed by your manager and rewarded rather then punished as in the case of the aforementioned, it is not as if you are maliciously attempting to do anything at all to said person. However, when said person decides to take it upon themself to consistently pester and irritate you (as in, you the semi-intelligent thinking being), simply because you do : do you work, think, breathe, etc.. you begin to become a bit annoyed with said person. Perhaps you will even suddenly begin to react maliciously and attempt to get said person "dealt with" by higher management. Hmms.

I am unsure as to my current decision regarding that matter, but I may decide to attempt to "get back", and because I hardly get angry, but rather exploit the anger of the person I am getting back at, I can usually seem to swing things my way. That, and of course, I don't ever really set out to get people until I, first have been "gotten" as it were.
[/bitch_session]

Okay, back on to happy things. I am very happy to be alive. In fact, I am very happy. Very happy to have my health as well, although I am getting older, so my health isn't quite as good as it used to be, say.. 10 years ago? I was 17, 10 years ago, and I would be damn happy to be in the same exact physical condition as I was 10 years ago. I was hardly ever truly tired, because I had some insurmountable depths of energy burning inside me. I could eat, 3* the average mortal that walks the earth, and not gain weight, in fact, it only seemed to fuel the muscles that coarsed under my skin in the various portions of my body. ... God, I miss being 'young'. (although I don't miss being stupid as all 17-year olds are, and if you are 17 and reading this, you are dumb regardless of if you think you are or not, not dumb as in "stupid", but dumb as in, "lacking the wisdom of years" -You will gain this in your 20's-30's...)

I am reading "Turning Points" edited by Lynn Abbey, a great book so far, and I will be finished within a few more days of reading. I am waiting for the next in the series. IF there is a next. I just ordered several books from Barnes & Noble, books that are out of print, but I noticed the cool database of that site to grab from several different used book stores around the USA. I ordered books like Tempus Unbound, Storm Seed, City at the Edge of Time, Lythande, The Shadow of Sorcery, Jamie the Red and so on. I can't wait to obtain these, amongst other books and will wait around and read to my heart's content.

Lately, i've found less and less enthusiasm for playing video games on the PC, mainly because recently I have not found any that have been interesting. I replayed the Temple of Elemental Evil twice and had some fun doing that, although I noticed that it became easier each time to play it. So, I decided to try and play Baldur's Gate 2 again, although I soon lost interest. It's a shame I have no real interest in playing many other games out and about right now, because frankly, they just do not appeal to me.

I am currently embroiled in the Xbox game Ninja Gaiden and I have gotten rather far into it, however I will note that the game is extremely difficult in the point that I am at. I don't want to brag, but I am usually very adept at playing video games of all genres. Almost as if my hands were made dextrous & agile for that very thing. One of the things that makes games difficult for me is the view. I like the 1st person view, however you have no peripheral vision and that does hinder my ability to play said game. Games such as Unreal Tournament 2004 would be completely awesome if I had some x3 monitor support or something to that effect. Not only that, but somewhat difficult controls also help to discourage me from playing certain games. Ah well, when my attention floats that way from South Park & my books, I will surely once more, sit back at the console and play (or PC, depending). I have not lost my love for the PC, nor my enjoyment of typing it out on the screen, or looking into my big-ass 22" NEC FP2141SB monitor... nothing of the sort. In fact, what I wish is that I have some great, kick-ass, all inspiring & attention grabbing kick-ass game, as well as a beefier, better, more powerful & faster PC to run it at optimum graphic capability. Ah well, perhaps I can change some DOOM3 background music so that it plays some Old Man's Child or Dimmu Borgir.

Oh well, I have nothing else to report, so.. take off, eh?

PS: If you want, I'll give you a laurel, and hardy handshake...

Friday, July 23, 2004

Okay, it appears if it functions in not only IE, but it works also in Opera & Mozilla minus one minor error with the scrollbar (customization, coloring/etc.) but that obviously doesn't make too much difference. Why am I so concerned with something like that? Well, it's more of a pride thing really, I just want to have a cool page (obviously), and therefore you, as the viewer, may appreciate the coolness of such a thing... or maybe not.

Damn, I am so tired. Last night I stayed up late (or, yesterday for those of you who work days), and when I went to bed, it was as if I was instantly swallowed by the nightkeeper or whatever you want to call an entity of Sleep, if there is/was one. I will say that I can't remember any of the dreams I had, although, wishful thinking would suggest that I dreamed of beautiful, sex-crazed women (don't all men dream of that?) therefore, I guess I probably had good dreams. Heh, I can't remember the last time I had a real, actual nightmare. I mean, I had a little dream about losing my hair or something like that, but I can't be truly concerned with such things. I mean, hell, better to shave all the shit off, instead of having the old Julius Caesar, right? :P

As a 'snake' in the old Chinese sign thingy, I am apparently "Wise & Vain". Hmms, not yet very wise, and surely very vain, but isn't everyone? I mean, if you aren't vain, then you must be someone who is not concerned with personal cleanliness & hygiene, and typically the sort of person I am not around. I tend to not be around smells that suggest things like not bathing, or the smell of some incredibly fat person who doesn't shower and the like. Yeck. That's all I can say to that.

I am waiting anxiously for the next installment of "War of the Spider Queen", a nifty Forgotten Realms novel following a group of highly evil elves and I am currently reading "Turning Points" by Lynn Abbey and Co. A conglomeration of several short stories. Although I did like the story by Andrew Offut, Hanse should not be all old and decrepit. He is a demi-god and those types of people tend to live for a long time (or maybe not in Thieves World. *sniff) Hanse happened to be one of my absolute favorite characters throughout the original series next to characters like Tempus, Lythande & Cappen Varra. It's a shame that the authors were all very old and many of them are now very dead.

Bleh.

Well, now that I am done tirading about that stuff, I am not sure that I am inclined to write anymore here today, because I have that book waiting for me and my wife told me that I must do some of the house-cleaning chores so that she can more readily prepare things for our D&D adventure tomorrow.

Okay, today is Friday. I am home from work (Thank God) and I am glad to be sitting here at the PC, once again, staring idly down my nose at the screen in front of me, the screen that seems to (at this very moment) be causing me several hardships in several ways, at least inasmuch as Opera & Mozilla are concerned.

I never truly realized the differences between IE, Opera & Mozilla, until messing around this in-depth with my log, because quite frankly, it displays perfectly in IE, but loses styles & so on, for Opera and Mozilla. I am completely unsure as to exactly what in the hell the deal is, although I think that I will continue to attempt to get this blog going in the right direction (or at least display mostly correctly in the 3 browsers). I'd rather it displayed "mostly" correctly in all 3, rather then perfect in 1, and shitty in the other two. Heh, sucks ass, but I will perservere I imagine, even though I am unsure as to how to go about messing around with CSS and whatnot, that seems to be the absolute root of my problem.

Well, perhaps I will post more when I have finished for the day, or before I am about to crash. Either way:

Thursday, July 22, 2004

Wow, absolutely beautiful. I have decided today for some odd reason to suddenly and irrevocably change the general layout of the old website. I did a bastardization on a template you can beg/borrow/steal from Blogger so now the website may look a bit different / possibly a bit more snazzy or not, but it looks pretty neat and I figured I could use a change of scenery around here.

Once we get some things underway (the wife & I), and I have some spare $$ lying around just asking to be spent on cool new computer components, I will set up a Web server with the old pc (Pentium 3, 800mhz, 512mb Ram, 2 20gb HD) and an FTP server on that very same machine (remove the monitor and so on and so forth, as well as any 'extra' hardware), and use it and point my domain at it, and whatnot, therefore removing any costs of the Hosting, so all of you who read this page will be able to use it unlimited-ly (and I will be able to put whatever I want up on here, as well as host for other people & so on and so forth.) I'd also have to learn how to set up an email server (exchange? does that come bundled into XP? hrm, not sure) and potentially it would all be settled from a home PC.

Oh well, I'll get around to that sometime in the future, when I could be bothered to do something like that. Heh.

Meanwhile, I finished work. We 'amazingly' had one of our pieces of equipment (what I was bitching about yesterday) fixed to some moderate degree. The wheel was replaced. Yes, the wheel. So, even though the engine sounds like its gonna blow, the wheel is there so that we can push it (propane burnisher) again. At least our floor looks shiny, even though we can't hear anything anyone says anymore. Yeck. They (and by they, I mean some repairman) took the "new" buffer away to fix the little plastic plate along the bottom that I (with no mechanical skills whatsoever) could have fixed, had I the replacement part. Ingenious. One of my compatriots and I did manage yesterday to fix one of the machine's, I didn't mention this part about that in my previous post (yesterday's), however, we did manage to clear out some bullshit from inside a brass pipe leading from a plastic water pipe so that water would once again spray down on the auto-scrubber's scrubbing pads. Meanwhile of course, the handle at the front console control of the auto-scrubber, which opens & closes the valve that allows water to proceed into these plastic hoses to split between them and flow to both right & left pad, didn't work well and needs to be replaced because of tiny threads that are in and are worn down... making it not 'catch' until you have literally yanked that sucker way beyond where it should be.

Okay, I am done bitching about that. I am no 5 year old girl with a skinned knee. Myea.

Hmm. Been watching a lot of South Park lately, don't know if I mentioned that or not. Hmms, well, suffice it to say, I think the episode where Chris Reeves was promoting stem cell research was the best so far, let's see the fetus' head get ripped off so that he can drink the blood to genetically empower himself or whatever. Heh, I was cracking up. D was a bit.. well, disgusted obviously.

Hmms. I can't think of too much else to report, although if I get anything, I will do so. Hmms.

First and foremost, much to my chagrin, as I opened up blogger.com, I noticed that it had updated and added some "cool" "new" features and so on , but as I attempted to access these so-called Cool&New features, I noticed that firstly and foremost (as I have been using Opera, and lately have upgraded to their most recent 7.53 version) that my friendlier, Opera does not seem to be able to take advantage of these features, as it appears to me to either be composed of ActiveX components, or that Opera just plain doesn't understand all the "cool" javascripts and so on and so forth, so, on top of being irritated about several things that I will soon mention, I was also quite irritated about this. Whew. (And even in Internet Explorer, I 've noticed some of these so-called cool & new things to be a bit bugged out, although the "link" button, which can turn text into a http link seems rather useful. Mleh.

10:00 PM: I arrive at work and punch in.
10:10 PM: I find that none of the equipment needed to do my job has been properly maintenanced and therefore causes me to be unable to fulfill certain job requirements. Yay.
10:30 PM: I find that my manager calls in sick, and therefor as senior employee or whatever, responsibility falls to me. EEEK!
11:00 PM: Severe difficulties with the (1) working machine at the time. Great. Wonderful.
11:20 PM: Growing hostility.
12:00 AM: Break, Thank god.
12:15 AM: Finish Break and move on.
12:15 - 6:30 AM: Lessons in Futility, and the wishes that our equipment is fixed amongst several other angst ridden encounters with various equipment that we attempted to fix, and later found not fixed, then we fixed again and so on.

Bleh.

Now I am home.

I picked up a copy of Matrix. I haven't watched that flick for a long time and on my Widescreen HDTV will probably show up pretty well. A lot of other things do: Movies, Video games, Anime, PC stuff, PC games, etc.

I have food cooking in the microwave as well, a Pot Pie. Mmmm. Probably about ready.

I am going to go eat it.

Saturday, July 17, 2004

Okay, while carousing around the internet I found some interesting stuff. And then I forgot what interesting stuff that was so I moved on and continued to do whatever else I was doing, which was checking my daily slough of news, crap, and whatever else I normally check in the morning (like topless girls at The Daily Topless!) or, now that I found a somewhat amusing "Pornographic" blog (web-log), I find that somewhat amusing as well (mainly because it is apparently written by someone in the Pornagraphy industry and there are some rather funny things. (Not to mention extra porn.. ) I am a guy , no?) But, while reading along some of this stuff today, I found a rather amusing article relating to a so-called "War on Pornogrpahy" which I find to be absolutely ridiculous, when I can think of many other things to start a war over.

1.) Big, fat, old, greasy bald-men running this country from the back-seat of their limosines while only making more $$ for themselves.
2.) Big, fat, old, greasy bald-men in Politics.
3.) Big, fat, old, greasy bald-men running the USA. (See a theme?)
4.) Big, fat, old, greasy bald-men deciding how *I* should live my life...

The list continues, however why bother, because most of it is related to those original 4...

... I would note that if I had children I would rather they watched a hot, steamy porno movie then some guy getting his intestines ripped out and eaten (I.e. A high-budget horror film) and because of my rather "free" opinion of porn/nudity/hot naked women/ and so on, I will provide a link to a website attempting to become #1 on Google.com for its "War on Pornography" article. You can find this website link here...!!

Now that I have gotten that out of my system. I must say that Opera is an excellent internet web browser, and I note that although it lacks ActiveX it makes up for it in sheer usability and niceness. And it beats Mozilla, if only because Mozilla seems to be in front of AOL for some reason, or rather AOL is behind Mozilla... hmms.

Today is Saturday. I don't work today. Today is D&D day, we can play our guys again. Mwooohoo. And eat pizza. *drooldrool*. My friend is going to come over (probably) and we will kick back and have a good time.

I am waiting for Naruto 91, dammit. I need it. In my veins.

I am reading "Snow Crash", a kick-ass cyber-punk book written by Neal Stephenson (if I remmeber Correctly) and is damn awesome, especially with its ... hmms, attempt to forecast what the old interweb is going to be like on thos dratted computer-machine things. (Or $2000 pornography machine as I like to think of it.)*

But, for me it is nearly time to go to bed (or at least, get in bed and read until I fall asleep).

So, have a nice weekend.

I will.

Later.

*Or not, because I am mainly a gamer, and I rarely look at actual porn, although I do love to look at Topless girls at the aforementioned website.

Contary to popular belief, in our ongoing D&D capaign, in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, during this "War of the Spider Queen", Kiarianshalee, the White Banshee, or whatever else you want to call her, triumphed, because of the pathetic worms of heroes (A Monk and a Blackguard-in-Training(Paladin)) were hideously defeated in their tromp downwards along the Underdark to where she made her lair and as they were on their way to stomp her down, they were ambushed by several of these acid-blooded undead guys and horribly slain. Or something like that, that part was glossed over by our DM.

In 22 years time, the Forgotten Realms campaign setting had several horrendous and bad things that happen.

The Drow bubbled up from the underground now following this Kiarianshalle(or however you spell it)...
Waterdeep was utterly destroyed as an example to the rest of the world, and left in ruin.
The Elves (that survived the initial attack) made a retreat to Evermeet.
The gods were yanked outta the Outer Planes and sucked dry of their Divine power, their power being infused into a magical apparatus that Kiarianiaisaiaiashalee kept and used to fuel herself with divine power.... (The gods that didn't die in the initial attack (to Kia-) were either left alive as mortals when sucked to the prime or utterly devoured and placed in some sort of crystal in her machine (much like a Demi-Liches teeth?) and fed from... Some like Correlon Larethian used what "Epic" ability they had as powerful 'mortals' protected their lands. (Correllon, Cyric, Shar and a few others who managed to somehow get away sneakily...))
Dispater, one of the Lords of Hell (Because he was on the Prime at the time) Squared a deal with Kia- & obtained the 9th Plane & Dominion of the 9 Hells ... Asmodeus is MIA.
The Chosen of Mystra were chosen to become magical experiments by Kia-s "EPIC" (50th+ level) entourage of Mages...

And essentially all nations were then occupied by contingents of Drow, Undead and Epic people. (And if they didn't submit, they were vanquished/destroyed)

Then...

From another plane where they were taking a vaction: 3 incredibly powerful (Native) Faerun'ites returned to see some of their favorite places were vaporized and began to have a bad day, noting that some invading force not only destroyed some of their favorite watering holes, but teleportation magic didn't work (along with other various kinds of magic), drow patrols were wanding around the surface searching for rebels and so forth and many other things (and of course, a stronghold or two of theirs was also taken.)

So, these three heroes ... err, beings, manged through pure ingenuity, chaos and sneakiness (not to mention, vile, base, beg, borrow, steal & murder) to manage to strike several "key" blows against this Kia- (Destroy Kia's 13 most powerful servants, (Interesting number that. WoT anyone??) Re-capture of several small strongholds, along with the PCs strongholds and a baston town fortified with near impregnable magical & physical defenses) until she was eventually slain when she was misled to believe that it was "Ok" for someone vested with divine power to go to a place called "The Bastion of Souls" which was unpermitted by cosmic powers (Basically, deities are not allowed to mess with pure, unborn souls apparently) to get smacked down by these "Higher" Cosmic powers.

These characters' names were "Mortanious" (ripped totally and completely off from "Mortanious the Necromancer" of Legacy of Kain), "Koltûr Azzur Tôl-Amrac" (name created by randomly putting letters & wierd symbols together and the user later finding out some swedish island is named the same thing. bah.), and "Gaellen" which is apparently a boy's name in Scotland.

Mort is a Fighter/Mage/Cleric/Legendary Dreadnaught/Mystic Theurge/Archmage
Koltur is a Fighter/Thief/Assassin/Void Disciple (before, more like : Fighter/Thief/Assassin/Mage/Elven High Mage/Archmage
Gaellen is a Fighter/Mage
(Note that they are Extremely "EPIC" characters, now. These characters have been used (variously) for several years (up to 10 years in fact) in the D&D game for a lot of hack'n'slash, RP, and whatever else. (Bickering, arguing, Rules-lawyering, etc. etc.) And have managed to reach an insurmountable level of experience... (in great part of thanks to our old DM : Merlyn, yes.. Mr. Monty Haul...)

But regardless, now they have gone to Sigil to begin their "Retrieval Agency & other Miscellaneous Odd Jobs Emporium", they have "effectively" or not quite, retired... to a point, or so...

However, in the wake of their passing, they have left quite the world behind. A gigantic, fortified city with a "Dark Mythal" (A necromantic mythal, that instead of living off the living plants of the surrounding area, lives due to the drain of life of the surrounding area and therefore, perfect place for Undead, Demons/devils, other monster types and any evil type...) as the literal "Center" of commerce..., several destroyed cities, several overrun cities/guarposts/etc. and only a few "normal" cities left...

In other words:

A PERFECT PLACE FOR NEW ADVENTURERS...

But...

Our heroes are not the good, shiny armor, sword slinging and spellcasting heroes of legends.. they are a bit more nefarious, evil, vile, murderous, perverted worms... only out to make a quick buck and screw over anyone who crosses their path. Perfect characters for us to play, heh.

And they are moving up the ladder.. we have recently made level 9-10ish... (11ish??) whatever.

...

[/nerd]

Okay, now with that gone, I have little else to say. I am going to watch some cheesy ass movie called Kull the Conqueror with Bloomington man, Kevin Sorbo (woohoo) and that'll be my night. (day for people who sleep in the night, work in the day.)

Later,

Okay, I have to say, that regardless of what I wrote, (and it disappeared, and so therefore have to re-summarize or whatever), I am very happy, and very amazed at a 'simple' DOS command that I have only just recently noticed, because in my several years of using PCs, I never knew of this command, and (I regret to say) it is very useful, specifically for the alphabetical cataloguing of files of various dirs & subdirs (especially disorganized piles of MP3s) and I will now post it here, and a sample of the stuff that I found (which is why I somehow, managed to erase my original post, because of my attempt to copy/paste the filelist in here *mutter*).

E:\Mp3\> DIR /O /S /A>filelist.txt *.*

This command will alphabetize all files, and directories, into a "filelist.txt" which is very helpful when trying to organize lists of files that seemingly control your HD and eat up your wanton HD space in such a way as to have you wondering "what the hell files do I have that is eating all my HD-Space" and this is the sort of way that will tell you, alphabetically and which directory and so on and so forth. And damn, I'm happy to have found it.

The following is an example:

And so on and so forth...

Suffice it to say, after viewing the above lines of stuff, you have to admit, that when organizing large lists of dirs, subdirs & the files within , such a piece of information is very useful (and simple) using DOS (under WindowsXP, bleh), and note that it can be printed out, used for whatever purposes you need, obviously. Yes, I am promoting DOS, under the WIndows based environment, because there are so many things you can do with DOS more quickly then actually inside Windows, like moving whole directories of stuff to other places.. renaming files with wildcards and stuff like that , and the list goes on and on. Mwah.

Now, on to testing "Tai Feng" or whatever, this game that a girl from work lent me to check out and practice and get good at.

Just as well, I have several movies I just purchased from the old Wal-Mart. Yoo hoo.

Nothing else to post that I can think of, will get back later.

Maybe.

Oh, and the picture on the side, for those of you who know him, this is Martin. Your local, neighborhood cross-dresser.

Sunday, July 11, 2004

I have to say that I saw something, only moments ago that literally had me laughing with amusement/amazement. I hadn't thought that there were too many netjunkies from my graduating class (considering, it's been nearly 10 years) as there are, and when I went to this stupid-ass high-school website, on accident (surfing), i noticed that there was a page with a bunch of the old folks from Eagan High School, Yes, Eagan High School, listed on that stupid webpage thing. So, of course, I had to join up, cause I wouldn't miss a 10-year reunion for school if I was going to get killed there, mainly cause I have to ... hmm, how to say it, "see" all the people I used to go to school with, who were so "cool" and "popular" and so on and so forth, and see where they actually got to, vs. where they said they were going to get to. I imagine many of those people on that website are, as I am, somewhat more nerdy then they(we) may have originally anticipated. But, such is life.

Classmates.com

Okay, so if you graduated from Eagan and want to see some of those old names that are probably slightly frightening to you, or whatever. Go look, it's funny. (That is, if you remember any of them, because I hardly do, although there are a few name people that I wouldn't mind seeing again and saying "Hey, fucker" to.)

Hmm, my friend came over today, and we had a lot of fun playing some D&D as usual. We ate pizza from Pizza'n'Pasta and had a rather nice time of it. I should technically get to sleep, but the problem is that I am not exactly, unanimously tired or anything at this time, so that if I go to bed, i won't necessarily sleep. Well, that's that then. Maybe I'll go play vids until I pass out, party til I puke or however that nonsense goes.

Still sick. Still miserable.

I should go see my friend .Donn tomorrow so that I can pick up some stuff from him, although I am not exactly sure if I will be too lazy or not, but I will have to make sure to "at the very least" give him a call and see what's up, cause he's all moving and stuff, but hopefully, it shouldn't be too much of an issue to go get that stuff.

Not too much else. I want to take more time from work, I don't want to go back when the weekend is over. Bleh.

Saturday, July 10, 2004

Well, after doing some more work while being sick, I am finally on my weekend, albeit late in the morning when I should be in bed snuggled up next to the wife, but that is very soon to come, I can count the number of minutes before I am there (mainly, the minutes that I will spend writing this post before going out there..)

I have just found an awesome website, and I would recommend it to anyone with a penchant for reading sarcastic humor. Andkon.com. This website has several very amusing posts, as well as a somewhat amusing set of fun Java games ripped off from old Atari Classics. Atari. Yes. Atari. I did live in the 80's. Maybe as a child, but I did. I did play on a Atari 2600. And I had fun doing it, bastards.

Today is Saturday, which means potentially and most likely, D&D day. Woohoo. I am currently playing my half-drow/half-devil rogue character and am having some good , clean, evil fun doing it. Heh.

oh, as a sidenote. After reading an article about "Free" / "Open-Source" Mozilla, I decided to check out Opera once more, and use that instead, mainly because Mozilla is quite potentially some AOL affiliated "Free" work, that will eventually be used by AOL to make them money whilst the actual coders for the "Free" software, will go penniless. At least, that is the way it would seem to me. So, bah on Mozilla. (Good browser, but bah on the Idealogy behind it. Scam the coders. Boo!) Also, I note that Opera contains many of the excellent features of Mozilla and is quite robust, and therefore, potentially as nice or nicer than. (I am simply looking for an alternative to bug-laden Internet Explorer.)

Oh well.

Not much else to say.

The book "Tempus" is awesome so far. (A book detailing Tempus & Nikodemos from the Thieves World - by Janet Morris.)

Thursday, July 08, 2004

Well, read some news this morning and I must say there is a lot of grim news going around just about now. A lot of war news, cures for diseases becoming worthless as the disease mutates, Scotty from Star Trek with Ahlzeimer's(sp?) and so on and so forth, generally a good reason for me NOT to read the news, because there isn't much that I can say that I am happy about.

Still sick. Miserable, etc.

Good news:
Naruto 90 aired in japan, and most likely it will be subtitled by loyal Naruto fans so that Loyal Naruto Fans like myself can download it and view it and hope and wait and hope and wait and hope and wait for the day when it comes out on DVD here in the USA. *does a happy dance*

Also, eTools, the D&D 3rd Edition character/monster generator program thing, is coming right along. Soon we will have 3.5 data-set functionality as we now have 3.0 dataset functionality, minus a few things that are minor irritations (like templates not having ECL variables and so on), so that eventually/soon, I will be able to use it as it should be used, (although I believe eTools2 (Rpg Toolkit) will probably provide more functionality and so on, and therefore be more useful to me.)

Anyhow, I've rambled enough, time to go do whatever. Play vids or read my book (Beyond Wizardwall).

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

Well, let's see, what is there to say. I believe that I have caught a cold. My throat is sore, I have a runny nose and intermittent headaches. So, in other words, I am probably sick and miserable. Well, I seem to be more miserable when I take some sort of supressant medicine which instead of making me feel better, seems to have the effect of making me more miserable then before but with no runny nose. Hrm. My heart tends to beat about 2* as fast and obviously that makes me sweat heavily (which is fun) and generally be in a bad mood altogether.

Work passed uneventfully so far as I was concerned, although I had to work rather much harder then I have been used to working. I mean, I didn't have time to catch my breath until very late in the shift, and by then, it was almost over anyhow. Heh, well, at least I am home and sitting down so my poor leg muscles can rest.

I bought the game "Evil Dead : Fistful of Boomstick" and since I am a fan of the movies, as well as a true fan of cheesy games and horror, and gratuitious blood and gore, I find myself strangely attracted to the game, regardless of its sort of horrible capabilities as well as repetitive jokes and statements. But, what can I say, I am a big fan of that guy, Bruce Campbell. I would like to say "Praise be to the guy who played Ash in that horribly funny (although it wasn't supposed to be) movie called Evil Dead. (1,2)" And Bah on Evil Dead 3 which was "okay" but didn't have the same sorta cheesiness as the first two.

And if you liked that movie, check out "Dead Alive". Heh, it is much in the spirit of Evil Dead, and if you don't watch it, then you are missing out. Especially the 10 minute, Uncut, Lawn-mower scene! *Cackle!*

Anyhow, I am sick and miserable, I am going to go.

Monday, July 05, 2004

Well, happy 4th of July (A day late) but, good happy july 4th nonetheless. Independence Day. Do you know what that is?? is 1776 an important year to you? Or... well, no, becuase you are probably alive now, and that's just something that happened a few hundred years ago by some dead people who were trying to have a better life for themselves, and look where it got them??

Heh. I beat the game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, on Xbox. Although, I typically NEVER buy Ubisoft products, this is in lieu of the old game that I used to play while back in high-school, and yes, it was actually very good, and a bit risque too. Heh, hot indian Maharajah's daughter's. Ooh baby. :P The game was -difficult-, extremely difficult in certain situations, as well as extremely frustrating, although I did perservere. Amazingly, I beat the game in something like 10 hours of play time. *sniff* For a platformer, I guess that is good time, but for a general game, I played it during the night to kill some time, and beat it, and.. well, that's a bit disappointing in some ways if you know what I mean.

Almost overwhelmed by Spiderman 2, there is almost too much you can do ... so, I am almost a bit.. unsure as to what to do next if that makes any sense.

I want Naruto 90. I want it, so bad I can taste it ...

Nothing to report. It's nearly bedtime. Saturday was fun although my friend seems to be a bit overwhelmed by some of his personal problems, and has turned to the exact source of his personal problems to try and relieve them. I feel sorry for him, because he doesn't probably even realize that he's beocme a slave to his 'addiction' or whatever you want to say, and is quite probably willing to go above and beyond what he would normally do to satisfy it. I tried to explain to him that he is going through a ... difficult time and that he should take care of himself, and watch what he does, but he either doesn't seem to care or doesn't think there is a problem... Well, it's not my business, I just thought I would add some helpful advice, sorta a : Watch out, you might not like a big black leather boot to your teeth, and that's what could happen if you don't keep your eyes on the woman that could potentially give ya that, but.. he sees beyond the boots to the nice shapely legs instead and forgets about the possibility... Oh well. I guess, I will just wait by and see what happens. I've already been told that his chicky and I will not get along well, so I am a bit curious to see if that translates to, " I can't hang with you much anymore, cause chicky chicky chicky , blah blah blah... " (There are two types of guys. 1.) The guy who follows the age old axiom & 2.) The guy who forgets who his friends are as soon as he sees a girl walk by. .. Typically my friends fall into the #1 category, but one of my pals seems to have suddenly shifted into the #2 category a bit unexpectedly. Only time will tell the results.)

Oh well, not much to worry about with that. Either way, I will be mostly unaffected, if only losing some time with one of my friends and gaining more time with my wife or hobby, or whatever else I can think of.. so... it's his choice what he does, I will watch and see. (But it has been nice hanging with him a lot, will be a shame if that has to stop cause of some stupid bullshit *expletive deleted*.)

Okay, I talked to much.

Later,

"You have no chance to survive. Make your time." -This quote in Spiderman 2 for Xbox, I noticed was ripped directly from the old-ass sega game, Zerowing. (And that whole quote that goes with it, is viewable in the "All your base are belong to us" Flash video that is floating around the net. I believe it is located here. May god have mercy on your soul!.)

Now, that I've gotten that out of the way. Hmms. I don't have much to report, other then, last night at work, I had a good night. A nice night of easy work, or at least, easy after the first 3 hours or so of extra difficult, hard work. Heh. Firstly, you show up, prepare all the machines, prepare the area (by clearing away crap, palletes, etc.), then you go in with what tools you have (autoscrubber, Hot Springs soap, squeegee, etc.) and clean the area up as good as possible, then you lay several (4 generally) coats of High Noon (crappy) wax. And, I can say, that regardless of the shitty wax we are currently using, the floor did come out looking pretty well in my opinion (which is usually quite severe), and I am roughly happy with what we achieved today. The floor is discolored, from countless inabilities to fix it up, and now that we are doing so, it can bounce back, if properly cared for in the future, but as there is a constant, impossibly assinine lack of crew (although that is currently against the norm at this time) it will likely again go without proper care because of our lack of pairs of extra (helping?) hands. At least there is job security, for those of us who 1.) Come to work, 2.) Do our job, 3.) Don't sexually harass all the female employees (although, I do and seem to get away with it.. or do I?? :P)

Hmms. Now that I've said that, I can go back to Spiderman:Vice City. Oh. Wait. Hmm.

Later,

\Koltur

What happen?!
Somebody set us up the bomb!
We get signal.
What.
Main screen turn on.
It's you!
How are you gentlemen!?

You are on the way to destruction.
You have no chance to survive.
Make your time.

Found some "sad" news, and that is that there will be no Naruto 90 until July 7th?! Nooooo!

Ah well, in other news, nothing of interest has happened lately that I know of. I work, I sleep, I eat (lots), watch some movies, I scored a copy of The Last Dragon and was absolutely amazed, laughed, and was a bit sad when i thought about how long ago that was and did some research on some of the actors in that film, only to find out that the gorgeous girl in it, is now like 50, the main guy character is probably 45 or so, and so on.. *sniff* I'm getting a little bit old, and I find that to be a very saddening thing.

Okay, aside from that morose stuff, I got work tonight, I got waxing to do, and I am going to do a good waxing job, or at least as good as possible as I can considering what I have to work with, so I tend to think that it will come out 'fairly' good.

Wife's on her way home after seeing Spiderman 2 and she's gonna pick me up a nice big slab of bloody red, blood drenched, dripping bloody meat. And, with my incisors, I will tear and maul apart this red-blood dripping bloody hardcore meat and... you get the picture.

That's so hardcore. Biyi*expletive deleted*... :P
